1. YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH SYMPLANO

These Terms govern your use of the Symplano app and website. By creating an account or using Symplano, you agree to these Terms.

2. ELIGIBILITY & ACCOUNTS

• • You must be 18+ to create an account.
• • Keep your credentials secure and your details accurate.
• • You're responsible for activity under your account.
• • Family groups are for real family members and authorised caregivers only.

3. ACCEPTABLE USE

Use Symplano for family scheduling. Do not use it for unlawful purposes, harassment, or to upload content you don't have rights to share.

4. AI FEATURES

Symplano uses AI to read school newsletters you share and turn them into calendar events. It gets things wrong: dates can be misread, and an event can be put against the wrong child. Symplano is there to save you the typing, not to be the final word — please check anything that matters against the school's own message.

How we handle the text you share, and the lawful bases we rely on, are set out in our Privacy Notice. That document, not these Terms, governs our use of your data.

5. SUBSCRIPTIONS & BILLING

Subscriptions, pricing, billing, cancellation and founders pricing are covered by our Subscription Terms, which apply to your subscription where they differ from these Terms.

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

We own the app, website, and related IP. You own your data and content. You grant us a limited licence to process your content solely to operate the service per these Terms and the Privacy Notice.

7. THIRD‑PARTY SERVICES

Some features rely on third‑party providers (e.g., auth, subscriptions, AI inference). Their services are governed by their own terms as processors or independent services; we remain responsible for our processors.

8. ACCURACY OF PARSED EVENTS

Symplano uses artificial intelligence to read the school communications you share with it and turn them into calendar events. This works well, but no AI is perfect: occasionally an event may be missed, duplicated, or created with the wrong date, time, detail, or child. Parsed events are provided as a convenience to help you organise — they are not a substitute for the original communication. You should always check parsed events against the original newsletter or message, and your school's own communications remain the authoritative source of information at all times. Events Symplano is less certain about are placed in "Needs review" for you to check; confirming an event is your confirmation that you have verified it.

9. OUR LIABILITY

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. These terms do not affect your statutory rights, including your right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to services performed with reasonable care and skill. Subject to the above: we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on a parsed event that has not been verified against the original communication, from missed or inaccurately parsed events, or from your use of the app contrary to these terms; and our total liability to you in connection with the service shall not exceed the greater of £100 and the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

10. TERMINATION

You may delete your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate for breach, abuse, or prolonged inactivity. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends, and we will delete your personal data according to the Privacy Notice.

11. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via in‑app notice or email.

12. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.
